Author What are you willing to pay for Access to a Cisco Lab?

Ok I'm in the throws of finally getting my act together to allow access via the internet/local modem.

Now I need to know what ppl would be willing to pay for the service, apart from the obvious "Free."

Please let me know as this is market research.

Thanks.

PS. Dimitri(WebMaster of EN) will also benefit from the service as well before you say this is blatent advertising

My buddy at www.nelsons-networks.com currently charges £50 per four hour session, so I guess at £12.50 per hour, even $20 per hour would be the limit for me. But having said that, I would want to use (play with) a lab for as long as I wanted, when I wanted; so, to me it makes sense to buy the kit second hand and build my own lab.

Just some thoughts.

I'm not after making mega bucks on this just to off-set the kit costs to me and provide access at a low cost for those who cannot/donot have access to the kit.

It may even be as low as £7.50 ~ $10/hr who knows...

I did all my ccnp labs comfortably for $ 225.
For a total time of 25 hours!

I think that is a range that Hippo posted and also what Ghost posted $225 won't break the bank either

Will you reply to all when you have ended your survey???

I feel that if you have already paid for any type of structured training that access should be included in the fee. I graduated from the Cisco Net Acadamy and this was the way it was and it works well!

True, but what happens to those who do not attend any training.

CeasarLi: Of course I will reply to all once I have enough feed back..I'll even advertise the final rate and the link

I have to agree with The Ghost about "True, but what happens to those who do not attend any training."

If any of you would like a cheaper option, I have the ccnp sysbex virtual lab on ebay

What do you think? http://www.examnotes.net/forums/images/icons/icon13.gif or http://www.examnotes.net/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

The kit you will have access to in the labs is as follows:

Routers
1 x 2511 (Not in the Lab though, used for access to the labs)
2 x 2524's (T1/E1, ISDN/BRI & 4 Wire 56K Modules)
2 x 2525's (T1/E1, ISDN/BRI & 4 Wire 56K Modules)
2 x 2501's (1Ethernet, 2 serial)
2 x 2502's (1TokenRing, 2Serial)
1 x 2514 (2Ethernet, 2 serial)
1 x 2620(1Ethernet,4 port ISDN Module)
2 x 1005 (1Serial & 1 Ethernet)

Switches
1 x 2912 EN XL
2 x 2924 EN XL
2 x 1201's (with Fiber Modules)
2 x 1212's (with Fiber Modules)

Aux stuff
2 x 8 Port RJ45 MAU's
1 x IBM 8228 MAU
1 x LattisNet 3000 ( 48 ports & Fiber Card)
15 x Console cable kits
15 x DB60-DB60 serial Cables
6 x 4/16 TokenRing Cards for PC's (both ISA & PCI)
2 x 56K Modems
Loads of patch leads and crossover cables & TokenRing leads.

I'm working on getting one, may be two 5500's as well as one or two 3920's for the labs.

I'll be adding 2 ISDN Simulators later as well as ATM and Voice capability.

our company is thinking to make a CCIE lab in the office so the engineers practice over there by making different by themselves & if not then i will not pay more then 300$ for a CCIE lab instead of that i will buy equipment for my self so i can practice with that as much as i can there is no limitation of 25 hours or 1 month something like that .

Just how much do you think a lab will cost you??

I know of one lab being built currently and the guy has already spent about £10K and is still investing.

I reckon $10 is pretty good for access to a lab, Yeti certainly has a wide range of kit - and it'll cost a damn load more than $300.

Update: we now have a Slimline-2 ISDN Simulator for the rack this alone has cost me £995+VAT

Well shouldn't be long now the AS2511-RJ arrived yesterday, so we will be configuring the rack for remote access

Also the 2525's & the 2524's are en-route.

Just need to find a Cat 5000/5500 with ATM now

Here is a quick look at the lab as it stands at the moment:

http://www.yeti-gbr1.co.uk/cisco-labs/i/Cisco-Labs-0101.gif

We will be adding a Cat 5000/5500 with Ethernet/FastEthernet and ATM as wll as a Cat 3920 for the Cisco Token-Ring portions.

Later we will be adding VOIP capability.
