| I'm in general pretty impressed with the quality and accuracy of the qod's on this site. But today's bcran question has me saying NO NO NO:
Which of the following memory types is used to hold power-up diagnostics and bootstrap program?
A) ROM
B) Flash
C) NVRAM
D) RAM
They give the answer as D) but RAM is volatile goes away with powerdown, can't hold anything. My answer was A. What's up here? | |

| I agree that the ROM slection is correct as when you view the information after excuting the SHOW VERSION command. | |
|
| I agree too for ROM, it holds the code for bootstrap not RAM. | |

| rom
nvram is usally config and other things
it's just nonvolitle memory
flash is ios
ram is ... well ram
although bootrom's are sometimes kept in bootflash. |
