Here is a off topic question,

Have anyone of you used any application monitoring software. I am looking for an non intrusive product. I wnat to be able to put a box on a network and be able to monitor application performance.

Thanks

There's a few of them out there. In my experience Sniffer is best because it's very easy to get to know. Downside is that it's quiet pricey and unless your company wants to spend some bucks . . .? Other vendors that aren't as pricey are LanExplorer (Sunrise Communications) that leaves a very small footprint and is about $1000US and isn't bad for the price; EtherPeek (wiledpackets.com); and a big Sniffer competitor is Agilent Advisor, but I didn't find it user friendly because it wasn't intuitive and the interface was hard for me to navigate. There might be some freeware out there that does app monitoring but don't expect EtherReal to monitor apps because it will only does protocol decodes.
