| Hi
I just started my climbing towards CCNP.
I started reading for the BCSI (actually 640-603 with Cisco’s complement on IS-IS. But when my training centre told me that Cisco is planning to release a new BCMSN soon I changed my direction towards BCMSN so that I wont have to wait for new updates for the BCMSN and the updates on books and sims for 640-901 are ready.
An advice, if its good or bad I don’t know but hopefully it is.

How would your testing center know this? The ones I've used don't give a rats a$$ about what's on the exams. They just download whatever one you order and feed it to you.
Should I go ahead and sign up now so that I get grandfathered in to the "old" exam? Also, if this rumor is really true, do you have any further poop on what new and wild topics they plan to add?

| What they told me was there will be new switches included in the test?!?! IOS?!?.
If Cisco does what they use to do on upgrades is small changes. Dont know if there´s gonna be any sims.
I dont know if this is a bad rumor but it´s vorth checking out.
But one of my resons of changing path is that I can't find any good book/sims that cover the BSCI. There is books with the new name 640-901 but the contens is 640-603 or 503. So when I'm ready with BCMSN hopefully there will be updated books and sims.

As I understand it IOS switches for sure and probably sims too are on the current BCMSN exam.
I don't know why everybody freaks out so much about the sims.

| Hi all
Don’t misunderstand me Marathon. I love Router Sims. Especially in the real tests. It is as close you can get to the real thing and this is the stuff that you have to know in real life. BUT the router Sims on the prep-market doesn’t include the topics that they intend to cover. They are a big help but by far from complete. That goes for a lot of books as well. So we have to be carful choosing.
Got a mail from Cisco saying that Cisco and Thomson learning are joining forces. I used Thomson learning “Waves” Boot Camp material for my CCNA. Great stuff even compared with Cisco’s own books. Haven’t looked into their CCNP Boot Camp but hopefully they are as good?!?
Have anybody tried their CCNP Boot Camp books?
640-901 and BSCI are the same.

| cisco press is ok for 640-901 (BSCI) exam. also get hands-on pratice coz this test includes some simulation for configuring routers. goodluck! | |

| hands-on is always good. I haven't done bcmsn yet but I suspect hands-on is even more important there with all the different stuff and switches etc.
What I want to know is "Is LANE on the BCMSN or not?" |
