How do I configure flash to be "Read Only"?

I tried config-reg 2101, but that didn't work.

As far as I know, 0x2101 in the config-register only boots the system image on EPROM. The Cisco documentation doesn't say anything about making the Flash read-only.

Unless someone else can point out an alternative solution?

Please tell more about what you are trying to do and to what model router because I think I know where you are going with this but don't wanna say something stupid if I'm guessing wrong.
