WOW Have finally done it... add one extra CCNP to the list.

Thanks all for their past comments on here. It helped heaps.

This exam is soooo different from the others, route/switch/remote. Like previously mentioned in the forum, the questions are so open ended. You really need to read the question a few times just to understand what they really want for an answer. I really thought I had stuffed it up, and to my suprise got 802!!!

Now onto CCIE written before I kill too many brain cells celebrating.

Cheers

Hi Mariolombardo,

well done! Good score and great to hear that you've made it to CCNP!

I'm up for CIT next week and I'm feeling like putting it off for two weeks as the more I hear about it the less I like the idea of taking it.

Could you say more about why this test is different...without breaking any rules, of course?

Is it still mostly multiple choice? The most important part of these questions for me is that Cisco say how many answers they want rather then 'tick all that apply'...do they still do this for CIT (I've no chance if they don't!).

I believe the type in commands are to be done from memory, ie, no list to refer to? I'm reasonably confident on the commands anyway as long as it's not really obscure stuff.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all thanks for you congrats.....it is a really good feeling having finished the CCNP.

As few have asked for some study tips. Below are some tips hopefully without violating cisco's "agreement".

I used the following:
- Cisco Exam Prep
- Crammsession study guide
- Bootcamp study notes
- Boson exam 1
- Transcender exam

I like to get as many points of view of the same subject. That way I when I get to the REAL exam, I'm used to seeing different ways of being asked the same subject.

WELL, the exam questions seem to be SO open ended, in which you could answer at least two ways. I had to read some questions VERY SLOWLY and think HARD as to what they wanted for an answer. The trick here is to look for KEY words, that is where the exam prep was good.

You DON'T have lists to choose from when you are required to enter commands, so remember your troubleshooting commands. BOSON was good for this as it asks for heaps. TRAN

The things that was MOST different was your score sheet at the end. The other 3 exams, you got a breakdown of all the different chapters that you have in the exam prep. This exam, you get 4 sections. TRANSCENDER was good as it used a similar method to grade your results.

I original though that I had failed it as I had answered some questions with what I had though was correct (as the questions were ambiguus). But luckly there more questions that are upto Cisco's standard in which you can eliminate as lot off answers.

So basically you had:
- Type in the answer (no list)
- Match the right phrase/answer(drag & drop)
- Multi answer questions
- Normal one answer questions.

Everything in the exam prep was basically in the exam, CCO, Novell, Apple, Troubleshooting. Sort of in proportion to how much was covered in the exam prep. For example there is heaps of pages on troubleshooting, hence .....do I have to say it. Again TRANCENDER is good guide for the breakdown.

Well I have to go....

BTW, I not pushing any product, if you get that feeling.

GOODLUCK ALL, Don't stress...you will know when your ready when your ready.

very impressive! Congrats on your CCNP. I would say that I am green with envy, but since I haven't put in a tenth of the work you must have invested in this, it would be out of line
Congrats again!
