I used the Lammle CCNA studied guide and found it to be excellent. Do the CCNP study guides hold the same level of standards.

Also, how good is the virtual E Trainer. It seems to have lots of potential, but having not spoken to someone who used it I simply do not know. Is it an accurate simulation of an authentic CCNP lab?

I've heard Cisco Press is better than Lammle for the CCNP.

Well, I find more information to be better than less so this is what I have done:

I use Todd's book first. Go through all of his labs and chapters and test etc.

I then go to the Cisco Press books and, with a good understanding of the topics, I find I can get a lot more out of them. Also it is nice as the Cisco books are much richer and without a good base understanding they can be confusing from time to time.

I thought the virtual lab for the CCNA was kind of annoying. I just went out and bought my own lab. 3 routers should not cost more than $650 is you look for the right ones (2502, 2504, 2515..etc..I know they are token, but if you want ccie they will come in handy)...you can also find 1601s for around $175...

Hope that helps a little

The lammle ccnp virtual e-trainer is pretty decent it includes all the exams/sections to pass the ccnp . use CP to read the concepts and theories and use a simulator to practice.Labs are best but if you do not have one, then you need to have a SIM.
