All,

I passed in examination CCNA in finishes week, I am now starting to
study for CCNP. However it would like to know the opinion of who it
is studying or it took off the certification, to give an idea to me on
books. I know that the majority prefers books of the Cisco Press,
however currently exist two that they prepare for the CCNP, one
launchn in February 2001 and the other in November of 200, which of
these I must buy?

Grateful,

Lindolfo Alves.

It depends on your level of experience. The Cisco Press books have everything you need for the exam and much more detail than other competing books. If you are just starting out try the Syngress Media CCNP books. They are a much EASIER read than Cisco Press. After you get basic knowledge, read the Cisco one. Just a suggestion.

Got to the local bookstore and browse through the different books and see which ones you are more comfortable reading.

It never hurts to read!

Hi,

I thank the responses... However, my question is the following one:
The Cisco Press has two preparatory books for launchn CCNP one in 2000
November of and another one in February of 2001. I want to know which
I must buy, therefore they are of different authors, sees link of
books:

February of 2001
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/A...9499899-3862221

November of 2000
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/A...9499899-3862221

It would like to know which to buy above of these and if somebody will
have one of them favor to say a little to me of the experience with
the same.

hello Lindolfo,

the November 2000 book set is the Preparation Library and covers the subjects in more detail. The February set is the Exam set and covers the subjects in just enough detail to pass, but it does include a CD with practice exams on.

I have the Preparation Library and found it very usefull as I don't have that much experience of working with different Cisco products. If you have lots of experience then you may prefer the Exam books.

Before you buy, check on www.addall.com and type in the ISBN of the books that you want. It will find the same books much cheaper for you. You should be able to save US$ 30 - 50 on the Amazon price!

Peter
