Well, I have been preparing for the BCMSN test off and on for about two months now. I have been deep in study for the last two weeks, and I have the test scheduled for tomorrow morning (Fri).

I just listened to the answering machine to find out that the testing center will be closed and I will have to re-schedule! No explanation, no apology, just reschedule because it will be closed. I was so irritated for the lack of consideration in the phone message. I mean, after all, I take my testing very seriously... I spend hours upon hours buried in Cisco Press, and to have someone just cancel my test the night before that I have had scheduled for weeks in advance was about an 8.5 on my irriate-o-meter. Has this happened to any of you guys before?

is there any possibility of moving to another
testing ctr ?
try calling prometric.
tell ya the truth i'm guilty of not reading
the fine print on (your or our) rights on
advancing $100 to a testing center who shafts
you on your date.
well, its worth a try.

i had been studying for cciew and it came
to a screeching halt when everything happened.
i work in NY and am badly shaken.
i have not been able to concentrate enough to read
my book.
i grew up in the town next to where
Jeremy Glick .... lived
my new hero

anyway good luck and don't take no for an answer

I expect to get a complete refund AND reschedule the test for free. I'll let everyone know how it goes when I call them tomorrow.

My first test for CCNA was just as you mentioned, I was more grateful though. Come to find out, I benefited from it however, each case is different.

I wish you luck,,,don't think you'll need it though.

and yes, a free test and full refund seems only right,,,that is if "they" believe in good business,,,,which,,,,,

Luck,,,,

Thanks for the kind comments SilkySmoothe. I am certain I will pass the test, but I just want to put it behind me so that I can start work on CIT. I am about halfway done with the CCNP as it stands today. Still got a little ways to go... I Plan to have CCNP completed by the end of the year.

Don't let the B*****s get you down!! I've seen your BCMSN notes and they were spot on (I saw them within a few exams of sitting the exam and it was still fresh) - and I've just cut n pasted your OSPF notes thanks a lot.

I got a call from the Fraud dept at my bank the day before my BCMSN last week - apparently they had seen some "suspicious" activity on my credit card - you guessed it, it turned out to be a Sylvan admin error, they tried to take the money 4 times!! But it took me a couple of valuable hours of my final prep time to sort it out.

Good luck when you sit it, hopefully there will be another testing centre near you with a space.

MattP, thank you for the kind words also. I spend ALOT of time developing quality study guides for tests, and I decided to post them because I have been the only one benefiting from them.

Now, regarding the testing center situation...
I called Sylvan this morning, and they said that the testing center itself had closed because of a problem with their phones. They promised to give me 50% off on my next test. I am planning on using the 50% when I take my CCIE written early next year.

They rescheduled me for the same morning in Oshkosh, WI, which is about 20 minutes away. I was in, took the test, and passed. I am not incredibly pleased with the score, but I will tell you it was a few points shy of 900. The funny thing is, I was playing Diablo II until one in the morning last night because I did not think that I was going to be testing... ;-)

I plan on calling the testing center and having them give me a free test in the future for their screw-up. The testing center never even called me. If it were not for Sylvan Prometric, I would have showed up for testing at a closed shop.

The test was somewhat challenging. I used the Bible (Cisco Press), Boson, CheetSheets, and TroyTech. Know your VTP modes, MLS, multicasting. Make sure you know what I just said. VTP Modes, MLS, multicasting. If anyone wants my notes, I have made a few revisions, but they are really good. E-mail me at strikeattack@yahoo.com and I will send them to you.

OVER AND OUT!

Would probably be a weird thing but I wouldn't want to take a test from a company that doesn't give you a reason for forcing a rescheduling. If they are a prometric partner, you might try to get a free additional exam out of it. Otherwise, I will be on the watch. Had to change testing companies, the one that is closest stopped testing on weekends.

Sucks for people that have to work!! I would be off the lid if I had to re-schedule. You wern't testing in New York were you??
