Damn!! That is pretty expensive. Hopefully it is a pretty good trainer with a multiple router environment at least for that price. Haven't used them but that is quite a bit.

If you just want to get through the exam, you can probably do without. Just use the free one's on the internet to get the 'feel'. If you need the hands on for work or something, then you should probably look to getting a real router, with that price you are already half the way there.

This trainer covers all 4 CCNP exams. I used Sybex's one for the CCNA and that was very helpful. I dont think 112/USD is a lot of money for that kind of stuff. You mite be able to get cheaper later on ebay. I do not know, where you can get routers and switches for ccnp for 400USD in USA. If you know then please let me know.

Also I will appriciate if post the link for that free site you mentioned above that would be very helpful.

The virtual etrainer is kinda like the an html version of the books. What I like about what I am seeing so far is that is helps you stay on track by helping you schedule your studies. There are some mutlimedia components that give you a walk through of the topic at hand. For instance, in the Remote Access trainer, there is a animation on ISDN function groups. At the end of each chapter, there is a written lab and a hands-on lab. There aren't any routers to use like in the virtual lab products. But if you have some available it might be pretty good to be able to duplicate what they are doing. There are also tests at the end of each chapter. Once you have completed the tests, you get immediate feedback on how well you did.

There used to be a demo of the product available at sybex's site. Now they have it where you can use a free interactive trial.

Here is the link to the demo of the virtual trainer.

Since you have two posts asking about the same question, I posted my response in both threads thinking that you might not be able to figure it out if I didn't. In your other thread you wanted to know about a sim for routers, well in this 'cheap' kit there is a sim for 3 routers. Last time I checked, you don't need to have a sim for 3 routers to get your CCNA. I used a real 3 router lab to pass the CCNP Routing Exam (almost a perfect score), so from my experience (mostly from industry) I was under the impression that you would be able to understand this.

Guess not.
