I am looking into buying a router for my CCNP studies

all i require is simple router only really a console and 1 ethernet port

i was looking at the 1000 series - would this suffice, or should i get a 2500 series?

thanks

You might try some 2500 or 2600 series routers.
3 prefferably you might try a 1600 for one of them.
A 700 series for BCRAN wouldn`t hurt hehe.
Oh and some switches.
Actually you won`t be able to buy all the Cisco gear you need.
I think Sybex might be coming out with a
CCNP virtual trainer soon with simulated gear an labs for all the exams.

Also Ebay has tons of used routers
and router study Lab racks

If you plan to go even further then you may as well start with a minimum of the 2500 series, but preferably the 2600 models if you can afford them. Start building the CCIE lab now if you can and it will save you money later.
