| Well, as you can read from some of my other posts, I didn't have too much luck with the Course Companion. I have the newest one on the block by Karen Webb, even has that new funky design.
Great book, steps you through at a gradual pace, although it seems a little unorganized at times, it will explain the concepts of the exam in enough detail.
I didn't use the Certification Guide this time, mostly because people were saying that it didn't let you know that ATM wasn't on the test and some other excess reading that didn't pertain to the test.
Both though have omissions about Management Software and you have to pay particular attention to the 'notes' sections as you read, they will be on the exam, guarantee it. Expecially the little blurb about the revision number on a switch when it starts up as a VTP server.
Anyhow, I would check them both out. Overall they are still the best prepatory books on the shelf today. The language is right and it is down and dirty. Multicast is a quick breeze through but if you read through it a couple of times it will make sense.
I also used the Boson Exams to help me out on the test but it didn't do too much good, without understanding the concepts in the book, you will probably be caught on the border line for passing.
Hope that helps. |
