Guys

I start looking for a book about the hardware part of routers(ram, buttons, leds) and switches and how we can connect them in a lan or a wan including modems, cables etc.Only for the harware part of them.
Any opinion about a title???

Many thanks

I agree, Cisco web site has all the information that you will ever need to know about a router, unless you want exact schematics of the architecture.

By the time a book is published, the hardware is obsolete or has been upgraded 4 times. Sorry, but I'd be very surprised if you find anything worth while.

Unfortunatly, Cisco isn't really good about getting its books out while the equipment is out there. A good reference for this is none of the books have the 1700 series routers which are currently very popular. Not one whim of them in the CCDA, CCNP, or CCIE books.

So your best resource is the site itself, unless you know someone in Cisco, they you might be able to get your hands on manuals that they probably use for classes.
