| Hello friends,
i m a BS final year student and till now i have passed CCNP-switchong paper. I will complete next three within next six months.
due to slow down in IT I am also facing a lot of probs. there are very few companies coming to our college for campus recruitement.
In India(where i live) we have lack of networking professionals, but even then we are facing this scenario. I have an offer to tech for CCNA.
now I feel that its much better to be a trainer (CCI) instead of doing design and implementation part for life long because u can do that also while training and there is much more money in that field.
I need your suggestions??? please think about it and feel free to comment on my thoughts.
moreover, is there any organization or web site in your knowledge where a fresher(BS) can get a job. I have done projects on design and implementation.
i dont have any job experiance but i have worked on:
1:
a network consisting of around 250 pcs, cisco 5505 and 2900 series switches. and all the networking devices mentioned in CCNA2.0 and CCNP-Switching.
with 13 vlans and CiscoWORKS2000 as management tool.
2: these days i m in the design and implementation team of our college network.
it consist of around 500 PCs with cisco networking devices and optical fibre backbone.
so please inform me about the job options available for me. | |

| Hi,
trainers in the UK get paid very well but you'd need lots of practical experience before they would consider offering a job.
I assume it's the same in India?
Developers who can take a site from nothing to full-blown LAN/WAN are also well paid in the UK. It looks like most techies prefer the 'maintenance/running the network' type of job over development so maybe that's why the pay is higher.
If you have experience in that field and you passed the ccda & cid then I think you'd be in a good position.
Regards

I do NOT know how much of this applies to India, but when recessions or slowdowns hit U.S. corporations, usually contractors and training are the first two things to get cut in the budget. This can make a job as a trainer quite susceptible to economic ups and downs.
FWIW,

| Its true that training institute will be effected by the ups and downs of economies. But, a trainers job may be a part time job. Here in india most of the training institutes offer these courses on weekends. So we need not to leave our jobs and we are getting an extra source of income. I have seen many organizations which primarily work in network design and implementation area or they are resellers of any particular company(cisco, sun etc) but they are also offering these certification courses. |
