Just curious: Do you guys think that after completing the CCNP, it is better to go straight to the CCDP or take the CCDA first?

In order for you to be awarded the CCDP certification, you must complete both tests. You can do them in either order, I suppose, however if you did the CCDP first you would be awarded CCDP and CCDA after the second exam. It is probably easier just to take CCDA then CCDP.

I don't think CCDA is required, CCNA/CCNP.

check out the following link for ccdp info. It lists ccna and ccda as prerequisites for ccdp.

Hi,

You needed to have CCDA so as to get CCDP..
you can do the CID exam before the CCDA exam but you will not get your Cert until you do the CCDA exam.

So do CCDA first(it is easier) then do CID..

All the best.

You must have the CCDA to get a CCDP certification. The certification requirements is a CCNA, CCDA, CCNP and then you just need to take the CIT on top of all of that and you are done!!

Caution!! I have seen many CCNP's that have had tons of problems with the CCDA and its simple requirements.
