BGP4 Case studies and Cisco student guide errors?
| Hi,
I found this from both Cisco student guide (p349) and BGP4 Case studies Section 1 that says"After BGP receives updates about different destinations from different autonomous systems, the protocol will have to decide which paths to choose in order to reach a specific destination".I think the first "different" should be "same".But are both wrong? | |

| What exactly is the question, is it that a single AS cannot have multiple paths to get to it through a 3rd party network or the internet from another AS?? This is where BGP can show some strength in allowing you to enhance this decision making process through the attributes to help in making decisions on how traffic is allowed to flow.
There is a decision making process to the BGP system to utilize paths that make the best use of both policy and infrastructure. |
