| Hey guy and gals,
Have you seen any books or training info on the new CISS certification? | |
|
| Nope
Although I'm interested as well, I did not find any litterature for the Cisco Internet Solutions Specialist either (irritating!). This is typical, I propose Cisco should work on docu before bringing out all those new certs.
(Maybe they laid off too many people in the Cisco Press department.)
I guess we should wait, in the mean time I will try upgrading to W2k.
Cheers. | |

| Saw the certification in my email the other day and did some research on it. Nobody is really into the training mode on this yet and there are no books out there for it either. Just like the CIP, it is a little new and it is in the Guinne Pig mode currently.
One thing that I found that you could do is build your own study kit from the Cisco web site. Initially I didn't think that this was possible with all the new topics that the CISS covers but I was wrong. Takes a little time but you can goto the career certifications site, get the general outline and then just search the web site for the articles you need to read. For example, no Cisco books cover SLA's at all but after doing a search on SLA I found this--
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td...lm/setupadm.htm
Which does a very impressive indepth look at SLA's.
I was willing to give it a whirl since the exams are usually only $50.00 a hit while they are new, at least the CIP ones are right now.
Did start seeing some of the new books in the larger book stores like a CCNA WAN Cisco Press certification book, didn't even know that existed yet.
Later-- |
