Hello,

I’m taking switching on the 31st and I’m curious what everybody thinks about the CD with the Cisco Press cert guide. Is it a fair representation of the real exam as far as difficulty/scoring goes?

Thanks

Hi

I took the exam this past Wednesday and passed with an 868. I don't know about the cd's you are talking about. I used the Cisco Press book and CCPrep practice tests.

I was actually very surprised how close CCPrep came to the actual exam questions. I was just using them to get comfortable with the material in question form and a lot were almost identical to the exam questions.

The exam isn't too hard, although the first two questions used terminology that wasn't in Cisco's own book and it scared me to death! Then it go settled in to familiar territory and went smooth from then on.

It is a 75 minute exam and I had 30 mins left so it isn't too difficult. The exam seemed to be in precise sections, VLANS, trunking, CGMP, MLS and the last five questions were on products; what switch to use where.

Good luck with your exam!
