| Just wanted to thank the moderators for deleting the spam posts that are just trying to lure people to buy cheat sheets. There was a post yesterday where somebody said he had "study tips" and it was just a ploy to get people to go to a site called Netqs to buy "study guides." The guy even sent me a sample and it's just questions copied from Boson or from other cheat sheet sites. Word for word. | |

| There's a new one born everyday. I'm actually thinking about setting up an "official" blacklist to pass around to all the site owners . . . you know, united front and all that. | |

| Actually, that's not a bad idea; you seem to be up on who's who in that department and I am sure you have a good list compiled already. I am sick of these jerks trying to scam people; I saw one of those Keen Interactive Cheet-Sheets and the questions were word for word copied from Boson, the only difference was that a lot of the answers were wrong. I guess you can't say they are guilty of plagiarism if the answers are wrong. I noticed too on websites like Suresh's that most of the testimonials are written in the same broken English that he uses, I'm not saying he wrote his own testimonials but it sure seems suspicious. | |

| I'm actually working on it now . . . I'll be in contact with as many site owners as I can find shortly. =) | |

| Well, the proof of eating is in the puddling. As there is no right or wrong in any act, it is mainly the intent that counts. If one is using the cheat sheet as an additional source of reference or assessment, it is fine. If one knows nuts about the subject matter and no experiences and soley rely on so called "cheat sheet" (really cheating), God bless him if he pass and land himself in a job where he needs to execute it himself. | |

| I really don't care if people use cheatsheets or not. If they don't learn the material in some fashion, it will be obvious when they get a job where they need it. It's the misleading and plain untrue advertising of the sites that bugs me. Why do they need to come to these forums and post these stupid "I passed all the exams in 3 weeks without knowing anything. Email me for how you can do it" messages? I feel sorry for anybody who's stupid enough to buy these things thinking that they can master the material in 2 or 3 weeks by memorizing questions and answers. Hey- if the sites want to sell their products, FINE, but be upfront and sell them. Stop trying to trick people into hitting the sites and stop trying to trick them into buying the same questions and answers they can get for free at other sites. | |

| tigger,
You are very correct man. I started studying for my MCSE during my summer break from school in 1999 and there were only MS press, Exam Cram, a few sybex books, the beginnings of cisco press and transcender. Now there are millions of places looking to get some cash from certification prep. There used to be alot more free stuff by people passing the test and putting up their study material. I mean it's 5 billion dollar industry. For a perspective video games and movies gross only 10 billion a year each. How many movie studios are there. How many production companies. How many video game platforms are there? How many companies make a video game? As I learned in my economics class. As long as ther are profits to be made new businesses will enter until noone can profit and if so only slightly.

| ditto ... sweet idea
i still don't understand how a site such as
"cheat sheets" who advertize actual questions
from real exams
don't get sued up the a** by cisco and micros***
i really don't trust those fly by night certification schools and websites.
i only will deal with the best and it'd your 10
grand.
actually i just bought by first test
boson cid #1 and this was only after lurking
for quite a while and seeing kudos from knowledgeable people whose advise is sound.
i have to admit that when i was studying for ccna
and went to every website in the world and the ones sitck with are the ones used by members of this forum.

| Don't know where they get the information from but I did see a couple that some of my friends got their hands on. Can't say too much but I didn't see any of the questions on the cheat sheet on the exam, except for the obvious ones. Obviously there will be questions about update intervals with different routing protocls and such.
Get real about it, the only places the information can come form is people that just took the exam, or other study guides. Either way, they won't guarantee you will pass or that you will even see any of their questions on the exam! From that alone you cannot study with them so why waste the money?
Their are so many different sites out there for testing though, would be great to have somewhere to find a listing of what is worth the time to visit. |
