I know that the preferred study source is Cisco Press. Which of the two books is better?? The exam guide or prep library series? What other venders do people recommend for a secondary resource that may be a little easier to read the first time around?

Thanks,

With the the exam guide i think you can pass the exam. But if you want to be 100% sure for your score you must buy the prep library.
And for your final preperation use the boson
tests with cramsession notes.

Go to bestbookbuys.com and do a search for the Exam Library by IBSN number. That will give you the lowest price on the net. You will then know that you have the best study materials, and have paid the lowest price for them.

If I can find a secondary resource that is written well for an introductory into the routing material I will probably go with the prep library book BSCN. Using a non-cisco press book for the switching exam was key to helping fully understand Webbs switching book. Anybody have recommendations on a non-cisco press book that is worth reading? I am looking seriously at the CCNP Routing Exam Prep (silver) book. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, Thanks strikeattack & xzadio for your input.

I have recently completed my CCNP/CCDP cert's
and I used two study aids in the process 1.
The Cisco Press CCNP Exam Certificeation Guides were very helpful and a online V-Lab
program from VLab also helped with actual configurations of real routers and switches.
Hope this info helps.

Thanks for the info. I have a lab at work so I've got the opportunity for plenty of hands on practice. My main concern is find the right book to supplement the cisco press.

Cheers,

go to bookpool.com and check their prices. Usually $20-$30 cheaper than amazon, BN and the others. I got the prep library for $129. Can't beat that for all 4 books unless you buy them used on Ebay (which is another good source....)
