This all depends on how much exam preperation material you wish to use. I used both the Sybex & CiscoPress exam guides as well as Boson tests & a couple of the Cisco Interactive Mentor Labs. I also bought the Routing TCP/IP by Jeff Doyle & the CCIE LAN switching book both of which are published by CiscoPress. The total cost including the exams can vary depending on where you buy your study material so it pays to shop around.

Good Luck!

Be prepared to spend at least $500.00 for testing. There is 1 CCNA test ($100), and 4 CCNP tests, also priced at $100.00 apiece. The CCNA is a prerequisite for the CCNP. I have heard of some testing centers that charge less if you are able to find them. And, some may even have coupons that you can use. If your corporation is not paying for the tests (most of them do), and money is tight, try doing a few searches for coupons to use at testing centers.
