hi all,

This is my first post on this forum after passing my CCNA last friday , I am moving on to start studying for the CCNP.

My first queation is what are the books needed to pass the CCNP as all I really used for the CCNA were the cisco press guides as I did the cisco academy .

Also can someone explain are there differnt exmas on the CCNP as I seen somewhere that there are switching exams etc...
like BACN etc....

someone please help as I have spent all of my time on the CCNA track and no nothiing of what lies after that!

any help will be much appreciated

Well . . . let's see here.

There are four exams.

BSCN (Building Scalable Cisco Networks)
this one is the Routing exam. (640-503)

BCMSN (Buidling Cisco Multilayer Switched
Networks)
this is the Switching exam. (640-504)

BCRAN (Building Cisco Remote Access
Networks)
this is the Remote Access exam. (640-505)

CIT (Cisco Internetwork Troubleshooting)
this is the Support exam. (640-506)

As far as books go . . . do a search for "CCNP" at Amazon.com . . . and you're set. You may also want to check out Cisco's certification site (www.cisco.com/certification) to see the objectives of each exam.

Well, it took me about three weeks to pass the Routing exam . . . but the time is going vary, depending on the exam, and the pupil.
