Anyone know any free information on this exam I can start studying for other than the notes on this website.

Actually there's a book for it, MCNS by Michael Wenstrom,
ISBN 1578701031
Do a search for MCNS, and you'll find a posting by MC I think for the exam, - holds a good overview of it.

Cisco's web site provides more than enough information for MCNS.
For those interested, there's a CCIE Security egroup mailing list that features a fair amount of discussion on the new Security Specialist certification.

MCNS is a good book but a little out dated. The information in the book about the PIX is old and if you apply it you will have compatility issues with the next PIX software release. It is still good reading though. I would look at studying for the Cisco Security Specialist Exam, since it is a new cert and will be around for a while. Most of the information for this cert is found on Cisco's web site.
