hi all,

Our ISP has confirmed us one IP Address
f. example 193.251.154.190 (our side) which is subnetted to an official IP range
193.251.249.24/29

So i configured the 193.251.154.190 as a serial interface. HOw about the Ethernet IP Address. Should i use the official IP address which is 193.251.249.25 or can i also take one IP Address from our internal network.
If i use the official IP address, then i cant access it from our Internal network.
Have I done something wrong, or is there any other possiblility like NAT to translate the official Ethernet IP address to our internal?
Thanks for the help

If your router IOS got IP Plus feature set, you can configure internal IP range with private IP (e.g. 172.16-31.x.x) and then use NAT with Dynamic IP pool to map all internal IP address to a single Internet IP.

BTW, in case you have 2 Internet IP address then you can use 1 as static and 1 for dynamic purpose.

Then you can have some services(e.g. web) installed on the static one while using the dynamic for internal mapping purpose.

Can't you use the IOS basic IP software that costs about $12 if its version 12.0 or higher?

I guess not. Please see the link below :

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc...dlit/906_pp.htm

And then seek to the title "PACKAGE SUMMARY", point 2, describing the PLUS Feature Set.

Best Wishes,
