| I was wondering which would be a better investment...the Boson or Transcender questions? I want to get the best preparation questions I can between these two. Also, can someone post some good URL's for free practice exams for the rest of us? | |

| Tristin,
I thought I would answer your question because I see more than 25 people have already read it, but no one has answered. I sometimes wish people would participate more, because many questions get a single reply per 25 or 50 views... Just an opinion...
Anyway, most people seem to enjoy the transcenders. I seem to hear more talk about them than Boson, but others may disagree. I have never used either. In fact, everything I have done to date was through Microsoft Press or Cisco Press. I finally just last week ordered the Learnkey.com course for BSCN. It was very expensive at $800+, but fortunately, I talked my boss into paying for it. I was very pleased. I find that the Learnkey.com course follows the material in the book. I sometimes see the sentences that he uses "very close" to what is in the book, and I can tell the outline is the same. They must have used the Cisco Press book for their outline. It is, however, great to read the chapter, and then see the instructor lead course on it.

| Thanx Strike, I appriciate the reply. I wish more people would participate also. Some of us need more help than others and don't have a problem swallowing our pride to ask questions. Anyways...I'm still trying to decide. I've seen more people actually have used boson more than anything. I could be wrong though...any other feedback? | |

| I used both Boson and Transcender for the CCNA exam, and I would recommand Boson. | |
|
| The transcender exam prep were renowned for the old MCSE exams where they proved very valuable, however they have been very slow in producing exam prep for Cisco. The switching and the routing exam were only released recently with the remote access and the support exam prep pending in July sometime which is why most people haven't used them for the CCNP.
Boson seemed to have proved its worth over the year, many people have used it (including myself) with great success and it only cost a fraction of the price of transcender.
The decision (as they say) is yours

| Thanx Sam...I think I will go with boson for the BSCN. Have you taken the 503 yet? | |
|
| Yes and I passed. You need to read the cisco press thoroughly then use the Boson exam prep. | |

| I've already ordered the Sybex Study guide. I'm hoping that this will be a good guide. I can't stand cisco press...too dry and drawn out. I've heard good and bad things about the Sybex Guide. I guess we'll see. Congrats Sam! | |

| the ciscopress books may be dry but they are vital for bscn. the general concensus on sybex is that it is not upto the job for bscn. | |

| Hi,
I have so far to date ONLY used Cisco Press books and Boson Tests and a few exam cram notes e.g. from cramsession.com etc but mainly Cisco press and Boson Tests. To date, I passed BCRAN and BCMSN and BSCN is next...
