Which way to go? CCDA or CCNP

| Hi;
I'm going to be writing my CCNA on Monday and plan to go for both the CCNP and CCDA certs.
I'm looking for some feed back on which I should way is the best. Should I go for the CCNP first and then the CCDA, or CCDA first, then CCNP?
I realize the the final choice is obviously mine, but I'm trying to find out which makes the most sense both in terms of progression, and ease of studying.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

| Just my 2cents, but I found that the CCDA broadened my knowledge and whenever design issues or questions are raised in the CCNP study process, I feel more comfortable with them because I took the CCDA first

| Well...I did CCNP first and CCDA after.
If you ask me, that's the right choice, because when you study for CCDA you use a lot of the knowledge you gained while studying for CCNP.
It's like a review, on a large scale.
You see the big picture. This sequence, CCNP first then CCDA is very useful knowledge-wise.
However...CCDA is only one exam and you'll get an additional certification.
If you are looking to posting your resume on the market soon, then probably CCDA before CCNP is a better choice. More visibility after only one exam.
Hope this helps |
