Limit bandwidth with CAR for 1600 : impossible ?
|
|
|
| I post this again because it disappeared (bad guys started dump threat)
Here we limit the rate to 20mn with a burst excess of 24000
interface Hssi0/0/0
description 45Mbps to R1
rate-limit input 20000000 24000 24000 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop
ip address 200.200.14.250 255.255.255.252
rate-limit output 20000000 24000 24000 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop
This is called CAR.
It's great to limit bandwidth but is only available on :
Cisco 2600 series
Cisco 3600 series
Cisco 4500 series
Cisco 4700 series
Cisco 7200 series
How can we limit bandwidth on a 1600 ?
Is it really impossible ?

| Unless you are my father, which you're not, or you're trying to insult me, please do not refer to me as "son".
As far as your problem is concerned, you would be best served by trying to do some sort of queing. Maybe even IP RTP.

| I've called cisco this afternoon and they said that it's impossible.
To use CAR, we should upgrade to 2600
(just fair queuing if you know) |
