backup load 75 20
backup interface serial 1
QUESTION:
serial 1 is disabled when:
-sent+received traffic on SERIAL1+SERIAL0 falls below 20%
or
-sent+received traffic on SERIAL0 ONLY falls below 20%
just to make it clear once for all!
thanks for your comments

| The load percentage references the primary link, so it would be the latter of your two choices. The backup link would drop with the load on the primary link fell to below 20%.
You always ask such clear and concise questions. Thanks.

| Actually MadChef, you are incorrect.
In the backup load 75 20 command, 75 is the percentage load at which the backup link is activated. The second number (in this case, 20%) is a measurement of aggregate load. Once the load of both interfaces combined reaches a value of 20%, the secondary link is terminated. Therefore, the first answer is correct:
serial 1 is disabled when:
-sent+received traffic on SERIAL1+SERIAL0 falls below 20% | |

| You're absolutely correct in that it references the aggregate bandwidth. I stand corrected. I guess that's what I get for making comments about IOS minutia without checking. I should start making a standard disclaimer like Dmaftei used to do.
The load would drop when the aggregate bandwidth used is less than 20% of the primary link's bandwidth.
