I think I want to pick up my CCNP and I was wondering if someone could tell me the 4 exams in order of toughness. I want to take the toughest first, and move to the easiest. Or should I just go for the CIT? Thanks

this is a completely subjective question.

switching might be toughest for me (as i do nothing with it on a day-to-day basis). but for you, ISDN might be a real bear.

personally, i would recommend CIT last. mix up the order of the other three. by the time you finish with the first three, you (hopefully) already have a solid foundation that will make the CIT much more do-able.

hth

good luck.

To my knowledge passing CCNP exams are not at all tough. Each exam passing score is 690-710. Scoring range is from 300 to 1000. It means if you can 60% answers correct you can pass. I don't know why Cisco has to make passing score so less. Naturally who opt for CCNP can pass exam, without much pain, which in turn will generate lot of Paper Certs.

To pass the exam Cisco Press "CCNP Preperation Kit" is enough.

If you really want to know the stuff I recommend the following books, which is must and it will be asset to anyone who wants to shine in networking field.

1.Cisco Lan Switching - Cisco Press - Klark & Hamilton
2.Internet Routing Architechtures - Cisco Press - Bassam Halabi
3.TCP/IP Routing Vol I - Cisco Press - Jeff Doyle
4.Interconnections - Addison Wesley - Radia PerlMan

Thanks, Im going to work my butt off to make sure im not a *paper* cert. I picked up TCPIP Illustrated: Volume 1 The Protocols (this book gives me a headache ) and I lined up an internship as a network engineer for a large isp.
