| passed my cit today to finish out my CCNP. my schedule was as follows:
Jan 25 BSCN
Jan 31 BCMSN
Feb 12 BCRAN
Feb 21 CIT
without breaking any NDA, below are some insights:
anyone who is planning on taking the exam, please consider using the Amir CIT text as a primary resource.
i did not use any boson testing. did do some of the CD testing from the Amir text.
as everyone else has mentioned, cisco really likes ISDN. know ISDN before you take the exam.
a friend and colleague took and passed his CIT today, and he mentioned that he saw a heavy handful of protocol analyzer related questions. i saw a couple, but nothing too severe.
don't ignore switching or ipx. i recall only one appletalk question.
no atm. no fddi. no token.
don't forget cisco resources (CWSI, TAC, CCO, etc.).
and of course, know the troubleshooting methodology.
good luck to all.
on to CCIE.

Very impressive speed.
|
| Bravo.Good gob.
I' am new to ccnp and i was thinking if you could help me.
What do you think about cisco library books. Is it good for the exam??
I need your opinion please.
Thank you
Oh and what is this Amir CIT text
Congratulations again
|
| i would definitely recommend the CCNP Library from cisco press. make sure it's the newest edition.
the Amir text is CCNP Support Exam Certification Guide by Amir S. Ranjbar (isbn 0735709955).
hth.
good luck in your pursuits.

| Well done Omni
What next ?

|
| IMPOSSIBLE
hey man you do it
good job
aah
but its just certification not a degree of becholer or master but they give you a good knowledge to improve your skills not to build.
however wish you good luck in CCIE you must go for it
by the way in which street you live the dogs of that street do there best for your future. and what kind of prep pizza you eat and dumps of knowledge you drink please help us.
=>everyone here is in the search of prep burgers and soft drinks like dumpcola and testcola etc.

right. it's a certification. just like MCSE or CCNA or anything else. and since i have a bachelor's degree, i don't see reason to get another one right now.
most of your comments are unclear if not completely cryptic, so in an effort to not misconstrue your intent, i will not respond. if you're just flaming, go ahead. if you're not, go ahead and elaborate.
|
| Trying to decipher what 1net is trying to say... sense some resentment. Perhaps jealous of your speed of execution in obtaining CCNP omni. Seems like trying to imply you dump your way through CCNP which is silly. | |
|
| from one om to another om -
that's kinda what i got too, but, again, i will offer him the benefit of doubt and just assume that i misinterpretted his words.
and you are right. dumping my way to anything would be silly. i worked for this. and i'll work for my IE. if along the way i can offer my impressions and my perspectives in a helpful way, i will try to do so. i also seek the same for others. if people think thorough preparation is dumping, they are likely to struggle with many things in life, including any exam they attempt from any vendor.
and thanx again for the congrats.

| humm, you would think by my name "cryptogirl" that I would be able to figure it out, but no this is something more than cryptic, perhaps its a beta for a new form of authentification, instead of CHAP or PAP, its CRAP!!
Omni your success truely rocks!! Congrats again.
|
| Omni,
Congrats on your cert with excellent speed! hopefully will be right behind you (about 3 months though!)Didnt really understand the otherguy's remarks either but in the interest of being nice will just assume he failed typing class or something...No reason to slam a guy for busting a hump! anyway congrats! on a sidenote for cryptogirl...what part of Florida are you from...just curious

I praised you with a humorous way. I appriciate your efforts. What I'll get if I start jealousy with you ? of course noting. so please don't feel you realy did a good job.

no biggie. as i mentioned, i assumed it was just a matter of message presentation, not the message itself.
corrupt packets, you know.
|
| I just want some comments on the message
I got them its enough. | |
|
| Hey Om,
I think its great that you achieved your goal, after all that is what we are all attempting to do here isn't it?
When I get home I have a family to look after and don't have a hell of a lot of time on my hands, but, I do have the same goal. I guess what I am trying to say is that there is no race to achieve the certification but either way it takes a similar amount of effort and dedication to pass successfully. Good on you for being focused and dedicated, I think these skills are a primary requirement for the ultimate CCIE.
Congratulations, onwards and upwards!

| congratulations on passing your certification so quickly
I am in the middle of studies for bscn doing theory before doing instructor led course and then to take exam any tips to pass this would be gladly accepted
As for the previous post there is a saying
"jealousy gets you no where"
|
| thanx again to all who offered their congratulations.

it sounds as though you've given ample thought to your exam path. i think it's ideal to form a solid theoretical foundation and taking it from there.
as for BSCN exam specifics, use a balanced approach to the three main protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP):
theory / function / configuration
obviously, your test may lean more towards any area (a lot of BGP, or a lot of EIGRP, etc.), but if you have a firm understanding of those three protocols, you should do well.
also, be sure to search the archives here for BSCN tips and guidance. this forum is very helpful.
good luck.

| Keep it coming. Everybody here sometimes have to deal with family, work, events coming up, and no time to study. I j/want to pat everyone's back for putting all their effort and eagership to obtain the most ultimately substantial goal. Congrats to everyone and hopefully, in the future, I have seen ya'll made it. | |
|
| Congrats Omni for your CCNP status. I still remember when you were starting to work on this as myself. I am very happy that you have passed it and took your time to share your thoughts.. Good luck buddy and hope you still come back and help people out like we all NP's do. | |
|
| thanx to all for your congrats and support. i'm very happy i made to the NP level.
anyone else who is working towards the CCNP, be sure to use this site as a primary resource. of course there a plethora of worthy sites, but here you get frequent interaction with global colleagues with similar aspirations.
