It seems very difficult for me when I am reading at home.
I am thinking to use Trancsenders in my preparation in cisco.
I have used in MCSe and CCNA.
What do you think about it , it s help ????

hay man this is really not good to just go through transcenders. The time which you will spend in transcenders/Boson the same time you can spend in reading the books and i think so you can make your own home lab also with two 1605 routers or two 805 series routers.Transcenders will not teach you concepts . Lets say you pass exams by transcenders but what you will do at work ? i had given CCNA & 3 CCNP exams and i did not even done practice exams instead of that i was just revising the book again and again or just learning the commands . So this make my knowledge more powerful and in transcenders what can u do ? e.g in ccna if you learn some questions form transcenders about RIP and igrp . The same time you can spend to read these topics from the book so your concepts will also be cleard and you will be prepared for the exams.

Good luck

I am agree with you , I am using Transcender not only to pass Tha exam , but to have a idea and concept about The exam.

Of course I am reading Sybex Study guide, using Router Simulator.
I dont have enongh money to buy Routers and Switchs , and I am doing my best to learn.
Ok.
I d ont thinks so that enongh with reading the study Guide, We have to take somes exams to test our Self.
I Mean that I understind more details when I use Trancsenders.
Thanks

well what can i say pal . Its up to you what you wana do . You can use 1605 used routers for lab or 805 used routers . You can get it cheaper from any company who r in this business if you don't find it let me know i will tell what to do but 805 router has serial speed of 512K . I gave you advice not to go for transcenders because this is what i believe . In your case as you said that you can't efford for CCNP courses you can do transcenders(if u r not in hurry)

Good luck

Some peopole have this huge thing about practice tests. Trancenders rarely come close to the actual questions. However, they ALWAYS have paragraph long explainations that explain the concepts. That way you learn the material, not just that the answer is ab or c. I recommend a good set of practice questions that have GREAT explainations and then buy 2 good reference books to concentrate on weak areas. No one is suggesting braindumps or anything like it. Get over it!!!

Just one man's opinion!!!

I know you probably don't want to hear it BUT if you use the Cisco Press books for Cisco exams you'll be way ahead. They usually have all of the information you need and they cover it in depth. I'm using the Prep Guides (however the Cert Guides come WITH test cd's - no need to spend the $$$ on Transcender) and I'm supplementing with Sam Halabi's BGP book (Cisco Press), John Moy's OSPF book, and Jeff Doyle's "Routing TCP/IP Vol.1". Read these books and you'll sail through the exams. I did use Transcender for MCSE tests and they helped. They're just too expensive and not necessary for the Cisco tests.

I agree that Transcenders are too expensive and I have been looking for information about CCNP for over a year now. No one has raved about the Transcenders but I have seen many positive things about the Boson tests.
Just read the Cisco Press book or exam certification guide and master that material for each test and supplement a practice test from Boson if you wish and you should be fine as well as understand the material to well on the job.

I've taken 2 of the CCNP exams and I used a variety of books and the Boson test software. The thing I like about Boson is that it is not as expensive as Transcender or Selftest Software, and if you miss a question it will explain the correct answer and include what book and page the answer and explanation can be found.

Hei Guys
Thanks everybody for your answers.
I have bought CCNP books ( SYBEX edition), and I have managed to find 1 Cisco router 2500 series ( Not so expensive )
and now I am preparing for 640-503 Exam in 2 weeks.
I have heard that Routing Exam is the most difficult test before CIT.
Is that True ????

Is somebody there ,are preparing the same Exam, so that we can changes informations, and discuss the subject.

Thanks.

2001alfa:

Everyone learns differently.
No one can tell you how to study for a paticular subject. And I don't dare to try!
However, you can listen to opinions and try out to see which method or style works best for you.

Ciscogirl:

You showed that you have very good taste when you picked out those cisco books.
I agree that TRANSCENDER tests cost a bit more, but cost should not be a sole factor if you want to make a good investment for your career. I have used both TRANSCENDER and BOSON, and they are both quite good.
But sometime you get for what you paid for.

I think the best way to study for the exams is to just read the Cisco Press Books as a starting point. I just passed the routing exam last week, and the Remote access this week. I used cisco press books for both and used Sybex for test question purposes only. The Cisco Press books are in my opinion the best out there and the Sybex do not go into as much detail as the Cisco Press. There is also a cheat sheet by Keen interactive that sells "actual test questions" I came across a copy of them on Morpheus and I can honestly say that about 10-15 questions on those cheat sheets appeared on the actual exams word for word. In my humble opinion, the only time transcender, beech, boson and all the other exams are even worth while are after you have done your reading on one of the books.

I have read enough for Routing Exam.
I am agree with CiscoGirl about Transcenders.

It not so bad as I have heard it her. it very expensive but It give me good idea about each exam I was taking in Microsoft and Cisco.

I read once or Twice The sybex books, Which I think it is very good stuff ( English is not my mother lauguage) ,It was written in easy english.
And Not mather If we spend some money in our Carrier as Ciscogirl said.
We must try everytings which help.

I am going to The exam on next friday, and I will get it.

Everybody has his own way to work, and I advice everybody who want to take his CCNP.
<<<<<Just Start>>>>>>
Good luck.
