Hi all.

I'm doing a project on various queueing methods. I'm looking for an application that can generate legitimate flows (up to transport layer).

Any help appreciated. TIA.

I've used SmartBits traffic generators to generate various types of traffic and check queues. They're both fantastic and fantastically expensive. See http://smartbits.spirentcom.com/

I also like the Ganymede Chariot product which was bought by NetIQ some time ago. It's a sowftware based product (smartbits is hardware based) and is significantly less expensive. See http://www.netiq.com/products/chr/default.asp

If you just want to throw some garbage on the line, you can use the ttcp application available on most any Unix and Enterprise IOS versions.

MadChef,

Thanks for the links. I've added them to my favorites. They look like good apps! I'll be sure to run a stress test on our WAN circuits during the on... err... OFF, I mean off hours! :-)
