I am getting ready to take my switching exam. When I did my BSCN and BCRAN I bought a few routers and telco simulators (POTS and rented ISDN).

For this test I do not want to shell out the $$ for the switches.

Has anybody used the CIM for switching? Heard anything about it. at $75 ebay I'd rather go that route than actually purchase the switches...

oh, and any word on other CIMs? Id be curious to hear any opinions.

thanks in advance

From my own experience, I found them very useful indeed. Not as good as the real thing, but very good all the same.

The dynamic ip routing protocols CIM was particularly good.

Give them a whirl...
