| Hello all,
I have been playing around with a 924 pulled from a company that cancelled our service. Anyhow someone started messing around with it and erased the flash. I've uploaded a new image to it (12.0) through xmodem and configured the config-register back to the 2 possible variables I think it could've been but the thing is still stuck in boot mode:
Router(boot)>
Can anyone give me some tips. Thanks in advance.

| If you go to Cisco's site, and do a search for "stuck in boot mode", the following will return:
Stuck in boot mode | |

| If you don't have a CCO login, here's the what it says:
A router is in ROM monitor (ROMmon) mode when you see the "rommon#>" prompt. It is in boot mode when you see the "boot>" prompt. A router going into ROMmon or boot mode could be caused by one of the following :
The configuration register (config-reg) is set like that
The dynamic RAM (DRAM) is bad
The router crashed and does not recover
The Cisco IOSŪ Software image is corrupted or not present.
A failed Cisco IOS Software upgrade causing the Cisco IOS Software image to be corrupted is the most common cause of a router going into ROMmon or boot mode.
