Author Just passed BSCN (Routing 2.0)

Hi Guys!!

I have just passed BSCN 640-503 1 hour ago with score 713, I can tell u guys this is a very hard test since currently not enough study materials avalible to purchase. I was self-study and usedCisco Press ACRC book, ExamCram ACRC, and some documentations from the Cisco's Web Site for BGP. On my test, there were about %35 of questions are BGPs, and the rest are OSPF, EIGRP, concepts, etc. I never failed any exams since I've taken my first microsoft's exam, and since I considered this one is a real hard one so I was expected I would be failed on my first try, but suprisingly, I PassED!!! I couldn't finished all the questions on this test cos I didn't have enough time, i missed about 5 questions when the timer striked on 0:00:00, but still, passed is passed...hehehehe.....
I guess BSCN is much harder than CCNA 1.0 and the hardest part on this test is BGP.
1 down and 3 more to go, but not sure what's the next one I should take, any suggestions will be appreciated.

Congrats..I recommend the BCMSN next..
I also feel the same way that there is not enough study material out there..
I just passed the BCRAN exam..and planning to go with the BCMSN after that..
I heard that you should not attempt the Support exam until you finish the first 3 also.

Well anyway goodluck!!

Congratulations on the passing score!!!

35% on BGP!!! Wow! I heard that there was a lot on BGP, but 35%....guess I better know BGP before I walk in there on 9/5/2k. Thanks for the tip.

Hey.....

Here's more tips on the BSCN I hope this would help.

If you have prepared your studied on the old ACRC objectives well enough, then I guess you'll be fine on the OSPF, EIGRP, VLSM..., but since the main concern on this exam is the bloody painful BGP, BGP is a very very complicated Routing Protocol compared to other Routing Protocol in this exam, I found it's even harder than the OSPF.

On BGP, if you only know topics about such as the difference of IBGP and EBGP, Route reflectors, AS numbers and those simple stuff, you still not well prepared. Attributes and Route-maps are very important on this test too, and the most important when you're doing your exam is the time management.

Hope this help and good luck to all of you!!

what kind of materials did you use on the routing exam?

2000-08-28, 8:08 pm

i used materials for ACRC cuz I was first prepared for the ACRC exam but then it expired so I had to take the routing 2.0, and I have also read the BGP documentations from Cisco Web site as for the additional studies for the Routing 2.0
