| hi people,
i need help on these few questions.hope
anyone can help point out the right expanations of the right one that i completely puzzle!!! THANK U!
1)this layer provide segmentation and terminates collison domains as well as broadcast domains?
a)access layer
b)distribution layer*(i think)
c)core layer
2) the default setting for port mode on 10-mbps ehternet ports and 100-mbps fast ethernet is:
a)half dulplex?
b)full duplex
c)auto?
e)desirable
(it is auto or half duplex--can't find
the right explanation from the books)
3)which of the following versions of the icmp
serves out the unsed field of the icmp packet
when sent and ignores this field when received?
a)igmp version 1*
b)igmp version 2
c)both
4) what are the two types of frame identifications method?
a) isl*
b)802.1q*
c)802.10
d)802.1d
(i know isl and 802.1q is but 802.10 can??
5)fast ethernet:
a) uses two line modules that act as a single
module*??
b)is configured as separate instances of spanning tree per link
c)treat two links as a single spanning tree
d)uses gigabit ethernet.
( i am puzzled with this one....)

|
| all right
but you got something missing in Q # 2
you will got this question seprately, you cant answer them if they ask you both of them in a singlr Q..because the 10 Base port is HALF-Dulplex by default and the 100 Base port is FULL-Duplex by default....you'll be in a mess if you got both of them in a single question...
|
| sorri,
anyone can help me with the other questions??
i really not sure if i am right about
those answers. ANyone who have pass the
exams for switching, help me out please!!!
i have been studying the both books-exam cram
and ciscopress and too many stuff to remember(head ouch!!)
anyone who have pass the exams tell me
which topic to focus more on the real exams
for switching such as mls, stp, vlan, vtp and
ccmp??? | |

| 2) the default setting for port mode on 10-mbps ehternet ports and 100-mbps fast ethernet is:
a)half dulplex?
b)full duplex
c)auto?
e)desirable
All 10 and 10/100 ehternet ports, by default, are set to Auto?
1)this layer provide segmentation and terminates collison domains as well as broadcast domains?
a)access layer
b)distribution layer*(i think)
c)core layer
This can be a loaded question! Cause all switches provide Micro-segmentation, each port is in a seperate collision domain, and if you are utilizing VLAN's, then each VLAN is a serperate Broadcast Domain. So, if you were to look at this question as a whole, then I would say, the Distribution Layer.
4) what are the two types of frame identifications method?
a) isl*
b)802.1q*
c)802.10
d)802.1d
The question asks. What are the to types of "frame identification methods?" Think in terms of Tagging. ISL and 802.1Q would be the answer.
5)fast ethernet:
a) uses two line modules that act as a single
module*??
b)is configured as separate instances of spanning tree per link
c)treat two links as a single spanning tree
d)uses gigabit ethernet.
Appears incomplete! It maybe asking about Fastethernet Channels, which are referred to as "bundles". I could be wrong, based on the question, but C and D would be my pick.

| 1) b
2) full duplex
3) a
4) a & b
5) b
I know where you got this questions from. I recommend # 7,14,17,22,25,28,30,32,33,36,4
6,47,48,54,57,64. ohh remember troubleshooting (this is not covered on the BCMSN book in detail). good luck
anybody working on BSCN? I am taking it Friday and I need help..... I need some feedback on the test... are they still giving BGP & OSPF questions alot???

|
| I used the Lan Switching book for the troubleshooting part and I think that the exam cram book got more details than the cisco press (have you seen how thin the cisco press book is?).
Check your mail....... |
