Author Sybex or Cisco Press for BCMSN

2000-12-22, 4:23 am

I would like to start studying for BCMSN - Switching.

I am trying to figure out whether to purchase Sybex book or Cisco Press book.

(I am studying BSCN book from Cisco Press, which I find it very confusing.)
If anyone has used or using the Cisco Press for BCMSN, please let me know.

My vote would be ciscopress. Sybex is good and has the book and questions on CD but ciscopress is very "Cisco" oriented in the layout and coverage for the exam. Also Boson and exam cram helped me greatly... Good Luck to you!

I too find Cisco press books confusing at times, but the more time I spend reading it, the easier it becomes. I plan to use another source as well, for another point of view (exam cram). Hope this helps

Cheers

Not trying to sound like a "know it all" but I would suggest the CCIE: Cisco Lan Switching text. It is difficult because it really digs deep, but it is very well written.

I am trying to learn the material as deeply as posible while working to pass these tests. I figure studying the CCIE level textbooks is a better longrun strategy.

Just my opinion though...
