summary link-state type 3 and 4 are flooded or not within area?
on my book, it's said to be no flooded, but i don't see how the internal router could sent packet outside the area if the summary of the inter-area routes are not flooded within its own area.
i think it's just a mistake.
could you confirm please?

According to the Cisco Press ACRC book:

"Summary Link entries are originated by ABRs. They describe the links between the ABR and the internal routers of the local area. These entries are flooded throughout the BACKBONE area to the other ABRs. Type-3 describes routes to networks within the local area. Type-4 describes reachability to ASBRs. . . "

if not flooded within the intra-area, supposing multiple abr, how the internal router will choose the right abr to forward inter-area packets?

summary-lsa are flooded within all area but not within the area they describe.
is this statment true?

Hi,

I think people like Madchef, Yankee & other experience guys please respond to some of this guys qts. as i have similar doubts like him. I understand sometime it becomes bugging but our minds are too curious.
