I was curious as to what exam(s) are needed for CCNP I went to the Cisco site and to me looks like there are 4 exams required for CCNP is this the case. Any info would be helpful.

Four exams is kinda right. You can do one of two things:
Take the Routing, Switching, Remote Access and Support exams
Take the Foundation R/S exam (a combo of Routing, Switching, and Remote Access) plus the support exam.

The foundation test is a bear. All the obscurity of a normal exam and twice the length. Most people take the individual exam.

thanks for the info. After looking into it I also saw something about the CCDA would that be worth taking? or do you think going to CCNP is the way to go.
Thanks again for the info

CCDA will provide you with a stronger foundation on which to build your CCNP skills. I'd recommend it. Your mileage may vary.
