CIW Server Administrator (ID0-450) Question

| I have a question for anyone who has recently (within the last 6-12 mos. or so) taken the CIW Server Administrator certification test.
Which OS's are covered in the exam? The reason I ask is that the book I have been studying covers Win 2000 and Linux/Unix exclusively; leading me to believe that this is all that is covered in the examination. Also, after checking ciwcertified.com as to what the exam covers, I've found mention of only Win 2000 and Linux/Unix; although the same paragraph does state: "Skills measured in the 1D0-450 exam include but are not limited to:".
Now this is where things get clouded for me and from where my question arises: I have also recently acquired an exam prep, (which will remain nameless for the moment), and I have seen little, if any, mention of Win 2000 in it. There ARE many Win NT 4 questions though (among the expected Linux/Unix questions). Now back to the question: Is Win NT 4 even mentioned in the certification exam, or have I recieved outdated test prep materials? I know for a fact my book is recent (2002).
Also I do understand that 2000 is sometimes referred to as "NT", but these questions I am referring to specify "Windows NT 4".
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

| Hi justaguy,
I also get confused after I passed my CIW-A. CIW SA covered all server administration questions. They expected a Master of Server Administrator should have depth knowledge in all server platform. It's Crazy! If you know that all, why don't you get MCSE/SCSA/RHCE/CNE?
So...I stopped studying the CIW. On the other hand, you should know there is no company hire a CIW Professional in the market.
Thank about it! |
