Passed Site Designer

| Passed the Site Designer today with a 95%. It was an interesting test for sure. There were a few things that bothered me. One is that the materials and test is outdated so you need to learn to answer questions "wrong" in order to get them "right". The second thing that bothered me is the fact that there are 3 books from Prosoft for this test with book #2 being the largest but there were 0 (yes, ZERO) questions on the test from that book. I was warned about that from a friend so I just glanced over a few of the pages. I don't even know why they include the book. It should be a completely different test for those subjects ( dreamweaver, flash, frontpage, etc..) I studied for two weeks at about 30 minutes a day except for the last 4 days I studied for 2 hours a day. The exam notes from ciwmaniac was nice to review before I went into the test. E-Commerce is next! Anyone have any tips for the E-Commerce?

| Probably the main reason CIW 1D0-420 exam doesn't test the 2nd book is cos it's suppose to be "Software Vendor Neutral"...
Also Software products are updated faster than the exam questions & official training material.
Just less to learn guys!
PS: I take the exam on Tues. Will post a feed back ASAP. | |

| Another excellent resource for thoses who are still looking for books & study guides.....
is Sybex's Site & E-Commerce Design Study Guide. (covers both 1D0-420 & 1D0-425 exams)
It's very concise & gives an invaluable summary of each chapter including pointers for the exams. What to learn etc...
eg: For the Designer course - it VERY briefly mentions the Software Products, only using general terms - No indepth coverage of what button to click etc. as covered in the 2nd Official Courseware book.
Hope this info will be of some help! |
