Hi guys,

I am preparing my CIW Security exam right now, and using Measureup.com 150 questions for practice tests and relaised I have quite a lot of questions regarding UNIx / Linux.

May I know when you take your CIW Security exam, did you get a lot of Linux / Unic Questions ??

Please advise.

Yes, on my exam I had about 6-7 questions that was related to Unix/Linux, for example how to use the chmod command. Be sure to know the basic commands and where important files reside in the various OS's.

Unix is easy, just takes some getting used to. D/L a copy from www.linuxiso.org and rip a CD and play with it a while.

What is the best version of Linux to go for as there are so many. As I beginner what would be the best introduction and provide a general platform that displays what Linux is capable of.

best for beginners are RedHat7.3 or Mandrake8.2
those are the latest versions and both distro are very easy to install
