Web Certs - Choices and Consequences

| So I passed my Network + a few months ago, and life got really hectic, as a result I haven't been able to study much. I was going for the iNet+ and probably still will, but it just so happens I now have some webhosting to use! So I started a little web development thing, not really a business just yet I have always like building websites, and now I think I'll try to make some money at it! Certs would help secure clients. CIW is the only one I have found that looks worthwhile, though I haven't really serched high AND low.
Bad thing is, I can't find much in the way of resources....
Any help on where to find CIW material online, or in print. I know about the 5 books in print... and am considering not getting a book at all. Practice questions or exams are more what I am looking for.
Also, what's the scoop on PHP and MySql not having any certs!!!! Those two are changing the way websites are made!
Peaces,

| You are right. There are not many books out there. Good news is the ones that are out there are recently published. There is a new Exam Cram book out for the CIW Foundations by Sybex. There is a good exam notes book by David Groth. There is also a Foundations Bible out now. I have not seen it myself so I can't say how good it is. I have used some of the other "Bibles" though and they are good. All of the above can be found on Amazon.
There is also an "offical" study kit (books) available on computerprep.com.
You could also check out the Inet+ CBT collection at edulearn.com or learnkey.com. I used them and they were VERY helpful.
Of course, check out the exam notes on this site. They were very helpful to me also.
Good luck! Let us know what ends up being good for you. | |

| Sorry....I forgot to address something else you mentioned....practice questions. I used the ones from this site and I bought the Transcender exams (transcender.com). I know it sounds like over kill, but it worked for me and it was my first cert, so what can I say.....
