| You have to tell a little more about your question - CIW Cert covers many things.
If you mean, do you need to get an entry level certification like A+, Network+ or MCP before you can take CIW exams, the answer is no. CIW has its own entry level
cert known as Foundations (1D0-410). Once you pass Foundations, you are free go on and take the higher level CIW Certification exams, which range from web design and development to network security. (Also, note that CompTIA's I-Net+ certification can take the place of CIW Foundations. However, you also to pay $95 and show that you have the I-Net+ cert.)
I hope this answers your question. Let me know if I can be of further help.

| Just to add to the above posts, you can take any exam in any order without taking the Foundations. Of course, you won't get the cert until you meet ALL the requirements for a particular track. | |
