Do not quote what you saw at the website. Let others make a guess and have some fun.

Not very encouraging salary range.

I wonder if they got these numbers from Prosoft.

My guess is that it is too new for anyone to actually get meaningful figures. No submission = $0.00!

In this economy, the figure may be more accurate than one would believe!

Is the economy really that bad?

I think the technology sector will pick up soon, so it makes a perfect sense to study and get certified now.

Studying and getting certified is a counter-cyclical business. Times are bad, people study even harder. Times are good, they study to stay ahead.

Hehe - maybe that salary range reflects the experience of those who used their preparation materials... ;-P

It is true that certifications tend to be counter-cyclical - it's one reason I've been picking up a few certs lately making arrangements to pick up another graduate degree - this time in a field actually related to what I do... ;-P

Although I've been very lucky to stay employed through this whole period - even luckier in that I decided I needed to change employers, and managed to do so with no "downtime" - you can't help but be aware that things are more precarious now...

The salary range for the CIW designer sequence is also going to be hurt because it's often being presented as an intro IT certification - which means it will attract a lot of people who have no prior IT experience, and who may discover ultimately that this field isn't a good match for them...

The quote by Hacker applies to the good guys in IT.

Let me add one for the Bad Guys...

As for the bad guys,... It doesn't matter whether times are good or bad, they memorize questions and answers from braindumps that they can get hold of, without any interest in any explanation for the answers whatsoever.

Guilty.

What is even more depressing is the fact that it was an educational institute that led me on this path.

It did crash a little.

I mentioned to my boss when she was in the process of employing me six months ago that I couldn't believe that she was hiring me in the current climate.

She replied that the industry was just clearing out the trash.

If that's the real salary range for a CIW certification holder, then it would make more sense I create my own logo or "badge" and use it at my websites. Ha!

Would like to find out how much money I'm not making but the link doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestions for alternative resources on salary info for CIWs?

Thanks,
