Hi, guys
I passed the inet+ first, then through the CIW official site to recognize and got the CIW associate, then , yesterday, I passed the Security professional exam.
The exam is not not hard, but you have to get well preparation for all the three main items.
Now, I plan to take the 450 in a couple weeks time!
Good luck, guys, hope u all gain the CIW certs soon!

First off, congratulations on passing the 1D0-470! It would be great if you provided some thoughts and opinions for those pursuing this exam. Good luck with the Server Administrator exam (1D0-450)!

And to answer your question gary_choi2000, the three mains for this particular exam are: 1) Network Security and Firewalls, 2) Operating Systems Security and 3) Security Auditing, Attacks and Threat Analysis.
Take a look at the following link for more information...

Hi,

I learned that there are several types of certifications for webmasters. The two that I can remember are the CIW and WOW. Which one is more important? If you are an employer, what certification do you care most when hiring an employee? There are like 10 CIW certifications. It would cost a lot to take all of them. Which one is the best or the highest one that I should take?
Thank you.

Johnny: Your question of which certification is better (WOW or CIW) is pretty wide open for interpretation. My suggestion would be to ask yourself some pertinent questions such as...what interests do I have in the Web? Do I want to be a developer? A designer? A little bit of both? Is this what I want to do for the time being (maybe 3-5 years down the road)? What exams do I need and how much will it cost to achieve the certifications that will give me job role experience? Is time a factor?

Ultimately, the answers to these questions will affect your decision on which program you go with. First realize that when it comes to webmasters, it is highly likely you will have your hands in everything that deals with a website. This basically means you will need to know a little of everything. A bit of web design, some database programming/administration, graphics applications and web servers to start with. Having a portfolio that showcases some websites you have done will go hand in hand with either the CIW or WOW certification. Its a serious undertaking, but it will have its reward. Good luck.

btw, personally I'd go with CIW.

Namrak, Thanks! your answer was excellent!

Gary, did u got it! if possible, try more effort on security related stuff, it would be more and more urgent need in the upcoming IT job market!

ISO personal,
Personally I pefer CIW, if u pass the ID0-450, 460, 470 and CIW foundation, you will have 4 individual Certificates plus CIW master Certificates. They never expire your qualification. For MCSE, you have to pay the exam fee every two years, cause they only recognize their certified qualification for two years. Totally, you have to take 7 exams for MCSE.
Examnotes did provide really help learning guides for those exams, but dont rely on only one learning stuff. if possible, try more practical exam stuffs.
I had the Boson, measure up and exam essentials, those are really helpful in every manner to push up your understanding for the related exam stuff you are fighting for.

Hope all u guys succeed the exam u are paln for!
Blessing!

Hi,

Thank you everyone for answering my questions. I have another one. Do you have an example of a portfolio on the web that I can view? I have created several sites already, and I want to put together a portfolio, but I don't know how. Is there a way to back up my claim that I created those web sites? I don't think you can just go to CNN or Washingtonpost.com and take a snap shot of it and say that you created it. So if you have a portfolio on the web that I can view it, that would be very helpful.
Thank you.

Sir, I think what you mean is another Certicate release from CIW.
That is the CIW Security Analyst, that means you have passed the ID0-470 and have a MCSE or Linux or bla bla bla.... certificates.
What my track is the Master CIW Administrator, the requirement is I had to passed the ID0-310, 360, 450 and 470
Luckily, I had got them all in this early December.
Anyway, I had some certificates, and I will fight for some to add up as a MCSE or Linux master, then I will get the Security Analyst.

Happy New Year!

To make it in a short time you can also adquire the mcsa cert, which consist only on 4 exams, 70-210 windows 2000 profesional
70-215 Windows 2000 Server
70-216 Windows 2000 Network Adm.
70-218 windows 2000 Network
enviroment

and became a CIW Security analist.
