Hi
I just completed by INET + certification and debating on whether or not to continue with CIW and E-Commerce. Major dillema is with all the .com's failing or failed is there still a need for Web Masters and a future in the jobmarket as a Webmaster. I went to the latest technology news in Moster.com and they say there are many jobs available as the techies, the programmers, system administrators and others who actually create and maintatin the technology -- haven't even begun to work on Web services projects. Also they say the next technology shift will be to Web services. Any ideas, comments or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in Advance

| I think there will always be a market for webmasters in light of the .com busts. E-commerce will not go away. However, I think the job market will be just as competitive then as it is now. My suggestion is to ask yourself, where you want to be a few years from now. If you truly see yourself as a website manager, then pursue this to the fullest. You will separate yourself from those just wanting a job to tide them over. If web services and .NET really takes off, you'll have to expand yourself to keep up with the trend.
By the way, welcome to the boards! You may want to update your certification listing with your newly obtained i-Net+. | |

| would you consider databases to be part of webdesign? the ability to have database content accessable via webpages could be the next step and another string to your bow. |
