| Timmy, I noticed your CISSP cert. Is it worth getting that certification instead of CIW Security? Do you think there is more respect for CISSP? | |

| Hey gizmoxman,
The CIW security cert is pretty good hands on for windows and linux stuff. It is probably similar to the sans certs.
CISSP is the big leagues. When you want to be director of network security, or the big buck jobs, this is what you go for. The pre-requisites are 3 years experience in one of the 10 domains of security, and a heck of alot of studying. I have 10 years experience in security, I studied 4-6 hours per night after work, everyday for 4 months. IT costs $450 to try plus $500 in books etc. If you are still interested read the CISSP forum here about any other comments. | |
