Hi,

I just finished Master Site Designer certification and want to know:

1. What salary I should expect (min - max)when looking for a position?

2. What are the best places to look (companies, organizations), that would need Master CIW Designer?

3. How long before one receives the Master Certification?

4. Can one use the Master logo, without the cert in hand? If so, where do I download it?

Thank you

Herman

Unfortunately, I don't think the MCIWD will have much weight when applying for jobs....

You will very rarely find a position that involves building basic sites with graphics and no code(real code, not html)......

That sort of job belongs to Multimedia guys who are excellent with Flash and graphics. I suggest go for your MCIWED, I know it's a lot harder than the MCIWD, but it will give you knowledge thats applicable to the current job market.

I've been an 'Intranet Developer' for the past year and started building graphical/animated sites that looked good but didn't do anything. In the past 6 months we have started actually providing solutions to problems by building apps using VB, ASP, ADO, SQL, Access, etc etc etc It's so much more rewarding trying to develop algorithms, or using business rules, to process some sort of data for some reason using specific criterion.

What I'm basically trying to say is, in the current market employers have the opportunity to pick the crème de la crème and you need to be one of them. Gone are they days of "Junior" roles where you can work your way up.......... well thats what it seems like here in Aust. Previously a search on job sites would yield many results for "junior" positions, but you don't seem to see them anymore.

Anyway, I have babbled enough (slightly intoxicated)........ have fun ))))))))))
