I realise this isn't related to CIW, but I thought this would be the best place to ask.

On ebay.com, when there is a reserve price, do you just have to keep bidding until you get over the reserve?

I have placed a bid on an item which has a reserve but when I bid it stays at the start price but shows that i have placed a bid. I tried to bid more again and it still stayed at the start price. Do I just have to keep incrementing my bid until it shows that I have met the reserve?

thanx :^)

The whole idea of an auction is that the price should be set by the bidders.

Most people like to buy on auctions becuase they think that they can get a bargain. With the concept of the reserver price the whole "bargain" thing desappears.

I am not sure how the reserve works on ebay, but I would advice not to bid on the auction that has the reserve associated with it.

yes, but there are some things that you just have to have..... and the possibility of finding them again would be very slim.

once again off topic, have you guys seen the Fast & the Furious? I have tickets to the Australian premier .... woooohoooo!!!

Reserve is set by the seller but hidden from the buyer. The seller can either choose to sell even if the reserve is not met, or choose to keep the item if the bid does not meet the reserve price.
